Two years ago, Willy Stewart’s vision led a group of us to begin meeting at 7:00 am on Monday mornings to read, discuss, and share insights from leadership books with a goal of enhancing the leadership skills we each have within ourselves. Involvement in Wake Up Leadership has had a significant impact on my life and being part of the leadership team has been very rewarding. The discipline of getting up early Monday morning and starting the week with positive discussions and reinforcement is a great way to begin the week. The books we have read, from the first book (H3 Leadership: Be Humble, Stay Hungry, Always Hustle) to our current book we just finished (Dare to Lead), have led to thoughtful discussions and sharing of life experiences that has educated, encouraged, and edified each of us in ways we did not expect. Wake Up Leadership is not limited to Stewart employees, so we have participants from other companies that bring diverse insights to the discussions based on the industries they are involved in. Our discussions are not limited to work situations, sometimes we discuss personal and family situations and gain insight to help us be a positive influence not just at work, but also in our everyday lives. The benefits of Wake Up Leadership are priceless, and I encourage anyone that wants to start the week on a positive high note, to join us on Monday mornings. If you can’t come Monday mornings, we have also expanded Wake Up Leadership to meet on Wednesdays at noon. Join us! Find out more information here.
