We’re honored to provide services for the new NCDA & Consumer Services Agricultural Sciences Center with HH Architecture, HERA, Integrated Design, and Stanford White!
Natalie Carmen, PE, Civil Engineering: “This project demonstrates the implementation of low-impact-design stormwater principles in a high-density project. Stewart civil engineers worked closely with Stewart landscape architects to marry the project’s functional utility needs with the over-arching form and aesthetic of the landscape. We are proud to be a part of the team that provided this facility for the betterment and service of all North Carolinians.”
Don Brown, Practice Leader of Geotechnical & Construction Services and Vice President: “Stewart’s Geotechnical & Construction Services practice was some of the first ‘boots’ onsite, performing soil borings and digging test pits to explore the subsurface conditions below the old cow pasture. We continued to work closely with HH Architecture and the other Stewart disciplines through the course of design, providing geotechnical input as the project progressed. During construction, we completed our suite of services by providing construction materials testing and special inspections. We are extremely proud and humbled to have been contributors to this vital project for the State of North Carolina.”
Michael Batts, PLA, LEED AP®, Practice Leader of Landscape Architecture and Vice President: “Stewart’s landscape architecture practice led the overall site planning for the new NCDA & Consumer Services Agricultural Sciences Center. Sustainability was a foundation of the overall site design, including areas of social interaction, integrated stormwater gardens, and universal access.”
