Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space sought to develop a Countywide Greenway System Plan. Stewart teamed with ALTA Planning for the preparation of a long-range plan that provides a framework for local governments and project partners to establish a comprehensive network of greenways. In addition to recreational greenways, one of the objectives of the plan is to provide opportunities for multi-modal transportation. Each municipality within the county is playing an essential role for greenway connectivity between each Town’s urban and activity centers. The goal of the Wake County Greenway System Plan is to put into place a clear guideline and plan that will be used for future greenway trail planning and development.
