SAS Building A

SAS Building A is a nine-story, 415,000-square-foot structure supported by 346 rammed aggregate piers and 870 augered cast-in-place piles (ACIP). The center core and training center consist of a structural steel skeleton while the office tower wings consist of cast-in-place concrete walls, columns, and slabs. In addition, the site work included more than ten acres of asphalt placed for parking lots and drive lanes.

Stewart performed special inspections and construction materials testing for ACIP, rammed aggregate piers, soils, site retaining walls, cast-in-place concrete, structural masonry, structural steel, sprayed fire-resistant materials and coatings, smoke control, and asphalt.
