The project consists of a 120-bed State Veterans Home facility located in Kernersville, NC. The facility will offer private rooms, nursing, various therapy treatments, wound care and pain management areas, activity rooms, conference rooms, a private chapel, laundry rooms, a full-service kitchen, and many other amenities. The project is one story separated into five buildings by CMU firewalls and associated expansion joints. The buildings will be supported by shallow foundations and a concrete slab-on-grade. The structural system of the buildings is load-bearing, cold-formed metal framing and structural steel framing with metal trusses.
