Credit Suisse First Boston Bank (CSFB) built this data center as part of its expansion of its global business center to the Research Triangle Park. It is now owned by Fidelity Investments Data Center. Stewart provided structural engineering on the one-story, 160,000-square-foot building.
The foundation system consists of shallow foundations bearing on rock. The roof consists of precast concrete double tees and inverted tee girders supported by precast concrete columns and precast concrete walls. The structure’s lateral system consists of precast concrete shear walls. The slab on grade consists of a 6” reinforced concrete slab. Numerous trenches are located throughout the slab on grade to support the infrastructure of the data systems.
