Stewart is an award-winning Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, and Engineering firm bringing interdisciplinary solutions to today’s site design and engineering challenges. By bringing landscape architects, civil engineers, and planners together, Stewart infuses our business with design thinking, fundamentally changing the way we work with our clients. Our approach results in creative designs that are beautifully executed with highly engineered sustainable solutions.
Stewart has proven that collaborative thinking outside the box makes for a successful project outcome that exceeds expectations. We offer a “leadership through interdisciplinary collaboration” business approach where creative planning and design services collaborate with our other disciplines to ensure a fully integrated and responsive design solution, achieving the realization of our client’s program, budget, and vision.
Stewart’s approach to design minimizes environmental impacts, provides innovative stormwater management, reduces negative impact on water quality, reuses existing infrastructure, and protects and enhances green space and natural systems.
Stewart provides services in a variety of markets within the public and private sectors including education, healthcare, institutions, municipalities, state and federal government as well as commercial, corporate, retail, residential and mixed-use.
In addition to project-specific site and master planning, Stewart also offers Municipal Planning services. As a segment of Stewart’s Planning & Design practice, the Planning & Municipal Services group is uniquely positioned to bring together the disciplines of planning, landscape architecture, and engineering, providing a unique data-driven and design-oriented approach that results in stronger and more creative planning solutions.
Many firms can write and update land use plans and development codes. Stewart is different in that we also utilize these documents on a daily basis. Our experience in development projects allows us to “ground truth” the documents prior to implementation.
Stewart emphasizes the importance of building relationships with its clients – even after project completion. The planning and municipal services group provides six months of continuing service following project completion, including addressing questions and providing support as clients navigate their new codes and plans. Projects currently underway include developing comprehensive plans, Unified Development Ordinances, small area plans, growth management plans and land use plans.
In addition, we share our experience by providing project management services to serve as an extension of public sector Staff with flexible “on-call” staffing.
