Stanhope Center and Amenity Courtyards

This high-density mixed-use project includes 300 student residential units and 800 beds located adjacent to North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. This project consists of the design of two amenity courtyards enclosed by residential units and an interior parking deck. The 11,000-square-foot passive courtyard includes terraced lawn and recreation areas for residents to enjoy movies on the lawn. A 9,000-square-foot active courtyard includes a resort-style pool, a year-round outdoor living space with trellises, a custom outdoor kitchen, and outdoor TVs to activate the space.

The Hillsborough Street section of the building features high bay retail space under a cast-in-place concrete podium slab with conventional 4-story load-bearing wood stud walls and wood floor truss residential units. This area also houses a concrete mezzanine level for the residential amenity space. The Concord Street and Friendly Drive sections of the building are five-story load-bearing wood stud walls and wood floor truss residential units. The ME Valentine Drive section of the building includes both five-story and five-story with street-level accessible basement units in the southeast corner of the project. The residential units provide privacy and security to the interior courtyards and parking deck. The parking deck is a precast double tee structure supported by cast-in-place foundations and piles.
