NC Central University Eagle Landing

Construction for this project involved a new 408-bed, five-story student dormitory on a 1.67-acre site. The original site was a formerly established neighborhood consisting of eight single-family homes. The building was rezoned from R-10 to OU-2 (D). A 70 percent impervious surface required stormwater best management practice (dry detention basin) be constructed on-site. Off-site storm sewer construction to remote discharge point was required. This building was constructed on a “fast track” schedule: eight months to achieve occupancy and 10 months to complete finished site work. The project won a Golden Leaf Award for Community Appearance from the Durham City-County Appearance Commission.
