This new $34 million Student Services Center is located on East Carolina’s Health Sciences Campus. The building is a beacon for the HSC campus, and provides a much needed gathering area for the students. The building was located to be the focal point of the future quad, and helps define the east edge of the future campus central green. Stewart worked closely with the university and the architect to develop a comfortable outdoor gathering area, affectionately referred to as the “Pirate Porch”, overlooking the green. Much consideration was giving to pedestrian access on all sides of the building as the selected location does not allow for a “back” to the building.
