The Details

Stewart was selected by the City of Wilmington to design the first section of the Cross City Trail, which will connect major recreation, cultural, shopping and education points within the city. This pilot project consisted of the connections between Halyburton Park and the Cameron Art Museum along with an eastern connection between Halyburton Park and John D. Barry Drive.

Stewart provided a full complement of services including surveying, field testing, planning and design services for the project. They included GIS and field planning to establish a preliminary alignment, geotechnical exploration, surveying, landscape architecture, hydrologic analysis, drainage, pavement design, final trail design, as well as bidding and construction administration services.
