Duke Wayfinding Signage

This project involved an extensive wayfinding project to develop a completely new wayfinding strategy and signage system for the Duke University Medical Center. This system has been constructed and now guides visitors from highways to the front doors of all major destinations at the Medical Center.

The key design challenge involved the development of a simple wayfinding strategy for a complex multi-user project. In addition, the wayfinding system aesthetic was required to complement the existing architectural vernacular and the existing Duke University signage system. Through careful, meticulous analysis of user types and movements, we were able to develop a simple system to deliver information to visitors in a methodical and logical manner.
