What motivates you to succeed?

I enjoy life. Succeeding is much more fun than any other alternative. However, to be a success, it must also include being respectful of others.

What project that you have worked on is your favorite and why?

Virginia Dare Bridge, 5.2 miles long, P-T continuous spans, substructure design for vessel impact, complex design and project management.

If you weren’t an engineer, what would you be?

A musician, if I had any talent. (Preferably pedal steel).

Senior VP, CAO, Director of Transportation, Director of Quality Assurance and Control

Mike serves as CAO, Director of Transportation and Director of Quality Assurance and Control at Stewart. In his role as CAO, Mike oversees corporate administrative functions including Human Resources and Information Technology. Mike directs the Quality Control / Quality Assurance of each of the service lines and is responsible for the implementation of our QC/QA processes. Through his background in bridge and transportation design, Mike also serves as the Director of Transportation for the firm. Mike has managed a number of bridge projects including multi-level flyovers, railways (underpasses and overpasses), bridge widenings, steel curved continuous plate girders, prestressed concrete girders, complex geometry and high-level navigable waterway crossings, and stream and wetland crossings. In addition, Mike offers many years of experience on DOT projects, and has also developed the project management skills necessary to coordinate diverse projects.
