What is the best advice you have ever been given?

A high school teacher told me I should find a more creative college major than forestry. I did!

What is the last book you read?

The Whale Warriors by Peter Heller It is about the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and their incredibly daring campaign to foil the efforts of the Japanese whaling fleet in the seas of Antarctica.

If you could work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?

Charles Pointe, a 1,600-acre planned community we have been working on since 2004. It is in my home state of West Virginia.

Jim is Vice President and manages Land Planning at Stewart. As Director of Land Planning, he oversees the firm’s planning practice, coordinating project teams, developing programs, strategies, concepts and permitting processes for both public and private sector clients. Jim is a landscape architect with experience in all aspects of project management, design and production. He was a cofounder of HadenStanziale, and throughout his career, he has emphasized quality, creativity and stewardship of the land. Jim is located in the Charlotte office.
