Bank of America Plaza/100 North Tampa, Tampa, Florida. These combined projects embodied the highest level of urban design that became the model for public spaces in downtown Tampa utilizing classic design principles and sustainable materials.What motivates you to succeed?
This is a difficult question at this point of my life because it changes with time and maturity but today, knowing that everything I do as a person or a professional could have a profound impact on a person’s life is a tremendous motivation whether it is the environments I create, the things I teach or the actions I take.
George is President, Director of Design and Practice Leader for Landscape Architecture & Civil Engineering at Stewart. As President, George serves on the Board of Directors and leads our Executive Leadership Team. He also serves as the firm-wide Director of Design, responsible for the development of significant and unique projects in the areas of higher education, healthcare, mixed use, corporate, commercial and park design. George also leads Stewart’s Landscape Architecture & Civil Engineering practice, consisting of Landscape Architects, Urban Designer, and Civil Engineers on multi-disciplinary teams. In doing so, George utilizes the diverse resources and talents of the firm to design and implement projects to meet the goals and objectives of our clients. George focuses his staff on design thinking as his approach to solving complex issues facing our society today and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration on all his projects. With more than 40 years of experience working nationally and in more than 25 countries abroad, George has built his reputation on the development of long-term client relationships and the design and implementation of complex projects for public, private, university, and healthcare clients. He has earned the reputation for developing consensus between city and county appointed and elected officials, as well as developers and stakeholders, resulting in successful entitlements for complex projects. George was recently elevated to the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Council of Fellows, recognized for his exceptional contributions to the landscape architecture community and society at large.
