My family had a family catering business growing up. My brothers and I worked in the restaurant starting as a dishwasher at around 9 years old. The dishwasher sprayed water the whole time so my dad cut holes in a trash bag for our arms and head and gave us a hat. But it was well worth it for those Space Invader quarters. What project that you have worked on is your favorite and why?
The School of Education at NCA&T. The building was very challenging with a 52 foot two-story tall cantilever. The building is very attractive and looked great on the cover of Structural Engineering Magazine. What is your favorite quote?
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” ― Albert Einstein and "Things come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle” – Abraham LincolnWhat do you consider your greatest accomplishment?
Being named one of Charlotte’s 2012 40 Under 40. The award is special to me since it not only takes into account your accomplishments in your career and how you have improved your profession. But it also factors in your community involvement which is a big part of my life managing my daughters’ 150 person year round swim team and being a den leader for my son’s cubscouts.
