Account Receivable Specialist

Stewart has an immediate opening for an Account Receivable Specialist, to work in our downtown Raleigh office.  The right candidate will have three years of experience in accounts receivable.  This position is responsible for ensuring that all monthly billings and collections are processed in a timely manner.  He/she will communicate directly with clients to ensure prompt collection of receivables.  Additionally, this person will generate monthly client invoices, distribute monthly work in progress reports to project managers, and track consulting fees for inclusion in invoicing.

Bicycle & Pedestrian Project Manager / Engineer

Stewart is seeking a Bicycle & Pedestrian Project Manager / Engineer for our downtown Raleigh office. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in bicycle and pedestrian and/or roadway design. This position will be responsible for producing consistently high quality bicycle and pedestrian designs for greenways, bike lanes, sidewalks, multi-use paths and complete streets projects. As project manager he/she will provide high quality, responsive client service, lead multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts.  Candidate should possess a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.

Stewart is seeking an Engineering Technician III for our Raleigh testing and inspections group. The job entails performing visual inspections and /or physical testing of construction materials, which includes (at minimum) soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, steel, etc. Work duties are primarily on construction sites in the Triangle, but some out of town work and some laboratory testing will also be required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six years or greater of progressive testing and/or inspection experience required.

Geotechnical Project Manager

Stewart is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager for our Raleigh Geotechnical Services group. The job entails coordinating subsurface investigations, geotechnical engineering, field testing, reporting, and consulting.  He/she will establish and maintain client relations, scope and execute subsurface exploration programs and perform geotechnical engineering analyses.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Five years or greater of progressive engineering and/or testing/inspection experience required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology required
    • Candidate must hold an active Professional Engineers (PE) or Licensed Geologist (LG) license in the State of practice
    • Experience working with geotechnical engineering software such as gINT, LPILE, GSTABL (or similar) strongly preferred
    • Preparation of NCDOT geotechnical reports strongly preferred
    • Experience working with drafting software (AutoCAD or MicroStation) required

Stewart is seeking a Special Inspector II for our Raleigh testing and inspections group. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive testing and/or inspection experience.  Candidates with an Engineering Intern (EI) Certification may be eligible for this position upon completion of two years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Reinforced Concrete/Grout/Mortar inspection and testing, Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM) inspection and testing, Bolting & Structural Steel, Monitoring installation of deep foundations, and ensuring compliance with project documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position requires the following certification/training, which must be active and in good standing
    1. NCDOT and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I certification
    2. International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete certification
    3. International Code Council (ICC) Masonry certification
    4. One or more of the following certifications:

Geomatics Field Technician I

Stewart has an immediate opening for a Geomatics Field Technician I to work in our Raleigh offices. A Field Technician must be able to work in a team environment, supporting / assisting the Field Supervisor and other crew members with all aspect of the daily workload.  Furthermore, he/she will operate surveying and SUE instrumentation and equipment such as prisms, total stations, global positioning systems (GPS), data collectors, magnetic locaters and ground penetrating radar.

Geomatics Project Manager

Stewart Geomatics group is growing and has immediate openings for a Geomatics Project Managers to work in our Raleigh office. The Geomatics Project Manager is responsible for overall management of surveying and/or subsurface utility engineering (SUE) projects. This individual will prepare proposals, negotiation with clients, be accountable for meeting project schedules, milestones, budgets, targets and quality of work goals, as well as, assigning and directing efforts of staff (field crews and technicians). The Project Manager will oversee the preparation of maps and plats, legal descriptions and all other deliverables while directing field work and associated quality reviews throughout the project delivery process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Degree or Equivalent Required
  • Bachelors Degree in Related Discipline Preferred

Stewart has an immediate opening for a Planner II in our Raleigh office.  This person must be able to carry out professional planning activities within context of land planning and design projects.  Primary responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to, manage planning studies, create project schedules, oversee development applications, and utilize development codes to guide co-workers in determining site constraints, potential development challenges, and entitlement processes for land planning and design projects.  Additionally, this person will make presentations to community groups and Planning Commissions/Boards.  He/she will provide public involvement and meeting facilitation skills for land planning and design projects as well as other Stewart projects as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in City Planning or equivalent
  • 5 to 10 Years of municipal planning or consulting experience

Structural Engineering

Structural CAD / Revit Technician I

Stewart, a leading multi-discipline engineering firm, has an immediate opening a Structural CAD / Revit Technician I for the Raleigh office.  This person will work with the engineering team to create AutoCAD drawings or produce drawings through REVIT.   Additional responsibilities include, assisting with updating AutoCad and Revit standards, adherence to those standards, and internal file storage management of AutoCAD and REVIT files for structural, architectural, MEP, and Civil drawings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education requirements include Associates of Applied Science in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or REVIT
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant work experience in structural engineering and/or AutoCAD 2005 or higher.
  • Proficient in Autocad and REVIT.

STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER

Stewart, one of the largest engineering and landscape architecture design firms based in North Carolina, is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to work in our Raleigh office.  This is a great opportunity for an individual to expand his/her portfolio and work on a variety of projects in both the public and private sector.  Project types include, but aren’t limited to, education, healthcare, institutions, municipalities, architects, departments of transportation and the federal government, as well as commercial, retail, residential and mixed-use developers.  The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in building design. This person will be responsible for the analysis and design of building’s structural gravity and lateral systems under direct supervision of more senior engineers.  He/she will perform design in accordance with current Code requirements and accepted engineering standards using both manual and computer methods under the supervision of more senior engineers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited University
  • Registered Professional Engineer required.
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to perform work after regular business hours, on weekends and sometimes on holidays when necessary.
  • Exercise good Judgment; considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies, codes, and permitting requirements.
  • Proficient at advanced mathematic computations.
  • Advanced plan / blueprint reading skills.

STRUCTURAL PROJECT MANAGER

Stewart has an immediate opening for a Structural Project Manager in our Raleigh Office. The Project Manger will supervise the execution of structural building projects up to a range of $30M. He/she will direct and manage project development from beginning to end and accept accountability for project results. He/she will collaborate with senior management, project sponsor, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timeline. Additionally, he/she will develop and maintains schedules for assigned projects and maintain profitability goals for projects set by manager.

The right candidate will meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required as some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited University
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • 12 years + Experience, building design preferred.

Transportation

ROADWAY ENGINEER (PE)

Stewart’s Transportation Group is growing and looking for people with energy, creativity and strong design skills to work on a wide variety of project types. Stewart is seeking a Roadway Engineer to work in our Raleigh office. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in roadway design. This position will be responsible for producing consistently high quality design on a wide variety of roadway projects, both large- and small-scale, including the design of major and minor arterials, limited-access facilities, bridge replacement approaches, at-grade intersections, interchanges, and rail crossings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5 + years of roadway design experience.
  • Experience working with NCDOT preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microstation, V8i and Geopak.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills are required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to walk through difficult terrain for over one mile preferred.

Stewart is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to produce consistently high quality planning services and documents on state and municipal projects.  He/she will lead planning efforts, manage junior planners, and will have direct client contact to coordinate planning work. This person will be responsible for building and maintaining NCDOT and municipal client relationships and procuring planning work. Additionally, this person will develop project strategy for each project that identifies milestones, appropriate planning techniques to be applied, stakeholders, schedule and overall project objectives.

  • American Institute of Certified Planning (AICP) credentials or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation planning.
  • Experience working with NCDOT and NEPA projects preferred

  • Proficiency in GIS software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
