Landscape Architect I (Charlotte)

Stewart has an immediate opening for a Landscape Architect I to work in our Charlotte office. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years experience, have experience working in a multiple discipline environment and be able to coordinate and develop conceptual planning strategies, and prepare design development and construction document packages with cost estimates. He/she will support construction administration and budget management efforts for senior staff. The right person will be responsible for development of creative technical solutions to complex design problems. He/she will have strong design skills at all levels of the planning and design process, including strong digital and hand graphics. He/she will have extensive experience working on projects that include parks, greenways, urban design, streetscape design, and community planning and design. Lastly, this person will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, used to coordinate with multiple disciplines, internally and externally, and within design teams in completing complex planning and design projects. Traveling to project meetings and job sites will be required, as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture.

Registered Professional Landscape Architect.

5-7 years relevant experience

Geomatics Office Technician (Charlotte)

Stewart has an immediate opening for a Geomatics Office Technician to work in our Charlotte office. Geomatics Office Technician must be able to work in a team environment as a member of the delivery team performing calculations, drafting, research and other associated duties while assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, existing conditions, right-of way, transmission line, transportation, construction and other types of field surveys and/or subsurface utility engineering (SUE) location utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technologies. This individual will be responsible for performing office duties to include calculations, drafting and research along with working with survey/sue field data to help prepare final project deliverables. Additionally, this person will be responsible for meeting schedules, budgets, and be able to operate software that includes AutoCAD/MicroStation and associated add-ons (i.e. Civil3d and GeoPak).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Geomatics Project Manager (Charlotte)

Stewart has an immediate opening for a Geomatics Project Manager to work in our Charlotte office. The Geomatics Project Manager is responsible for overall management of surveying and/or subsurface utility engineering (SUE) projects. This individual will prepare proposals, negotiation with clients, be accountable for meeting project schedules, milestones, budgets, targets and quality of work goals, as well as, assigning and directing efforts of staff (field crews and technicians). The Project Manager will oversee the preparation of maps and plats, legal descriptions and all other deliverables while directing field work and associated quality reviews throughout the project delivery process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Degree or Equivalent Required
  • Bachelors Degree in Related Discipline Preferred
  • 10 plus years of Technical Experience in a Geomatics Specialty (Survey, SUE, GIS, photogrammetry, etc.)
  • Completed Advanced Utility Locator Training Course (3 days)
  • Professional Land Survey License (PLS) or industry recognized certification equivalent from the appropriate Geomatics specialty (SUE or GIS) or recognized Project Management Professional certification (PMP)

Structural Engineering Intern (Charlotte)

Stewart, one of the largest engineering and landscape architecture design firms based in North Carolina, is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to work in our Charlotte office. This is a great opportunity for an individual to expand his/her portfolio and work on a variety of projects in both the public and private sector. Project types include, but aren’t limited to, education, healthcare, institutions, municipalities, architects, departments of transportation and the federal government, as well as commercial, retail, residential and mixed-use developers. The ideal candidate has 0-3 years of experience and will perform structural engineering task as directed by senior engineers. Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited University. AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred.

  • Registered Engineering Intern (EI) or planning to take the Fundamentals Exam within the next six months.

Bicycle & Pedestrian Practice Project Manager (Raleigh)

Stewart is seeking a Bicycle & Pedestrian Practice Project Manager for our downtown Raleigh office. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of experience in bicycle and pedestrian and/or roadway design. This position will be responsible for producing consistently high quality bicycle and pedestrian designs for greenways, bike lanes, sidewalks, multi-use paths and complete streets projects. Candidate should possess a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Microstation experience required.
  • NCDOT experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license – required.
  • Drainage and erosion control expertise a plus.

Bridge Engineer (Raleigh)

Stewart is seeking a Bridge Engineer to work in our Raleigh office. Qualified candidates should have 4 to 8 years’ experience in the design of bridges and other transportation structures working with NCDOT as well as other state and municipal clients.  The position requires the development of structural design and drawings to current AASHTO and NCDOT standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Previous experience on NCDOT projects preferred.

Structural CAD / Revit Technician I (Raleigh)

Stewart, a leading multi-discipline engineering firm, has an immediate opening a Structural CAD / Revit Technician I for the Raleigh office.  This person will work with the engineering team to create AutoCAD drawings or produce drawings through REVIT.   Additional responsibilities include, assisting with updating AutoCad and Revit standards, adherence to those standards, and internal file storage management of AutoCAD and REVIT files for structural, architectural, MEP, and Civil drawings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education requirements include Associates of Applied Science in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or REVIT

Construction Administrator (Raleigh)

Stewart, one of the largest engineering and landscape architecture design firms based in North Carolina, is seeking a Construction Administrator to work in our Raleigh office.  This is a great opportunity for an individual to work on a variety of projects in both the public and private sector.  Project types include, but aren’t limited to, education, healthcare, institutions, municipalities, architects, departments of transportation and the federal government, as well as commercial, retail, residential and mixed-use developers.  The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in construction administration. This person will be responsible for reviewing shop drawings, maintaining the shop drawing log, and performing site visits to confirm that the project is being constructed in accordance with the contract documents and specifications.  He/she will prepare written reports documenting work observed, report deficiencies, and provide recommendations to repair deficiencies.

Requirements:

Special Inspector (Raleigh)

Stewart is seeking a Special Inspector for our Raleigh testing and inspections group. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of progressive testing and/or inspection experience.  Candidates with an Engineering Intern (EI) Certification may be eligible for this position upon completion of one year of relevant experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting field inspections for compliance with project documents, testing of structural elements, and various reinforced Concrete/Grout/Mortar inspections and testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate should possess both a NCDOT and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I certification and an International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete certification.
  • Be able to lift equipment up to 60 lbs.
  • Be able to performing physical activities required of the testing procedures including squatting, bending, lifting, climbing and traversing difficult terrain.
  • Be proficient at basic mathematic computations to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Have advanced plan/blueprint reading skills.

Senior Geotechnical Project Manager (Raleigh)

Stewart is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager for our Raleigh testing and inspections group. The job entails performing subsurface investigations, geotechnical engineering, field testing, reporting, and consulting.  He/she will establish and maintain client relations, supervise subcontracted drill crews, and assist fellow engineers, technicians, and inspectors as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ten years or greater of progressive engineering and/or testing/inspection experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required, Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
  • Active, North Carolina, Professional Engineers (PE) license required.
  • Experience working with drafting software (AutoCAD or MicroStation) required
  • Experience working with geotechnical engineering software such as gINT, LPILE, APLIE, GSTABL (or similar) strongly preferred
  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 60 lbs.

Landscape Architect II (Raleigh)

Stewart has an immediate opening for a Landscape Architect II to work in our Raleigh office in the Land Planning and Design Studio. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience, have experience working in a multi-discipline environment and possess the ability to coordinate and develop design strategies, and prepare design development and construction document packages including specifications. He/she will support construction administration and budget management efforts for senior staff. The right person will be responsible for development of creative, sustainable and technical solutions to complex design problems. He/she will have strong design skills at all levels of the planning and design process, including strong digital and hand graphics. He/she will have extensive experience working on projects that include parks, greenways, campus design, urban design, streetscape design, and community planning and design. Lastly, this person will have exceptional interpersonal, written, oral and graphic communication skills, used to coordinate with multiple disciplines, internally and externally, and within design teams in completing complex planning and design projects. Traveling to project meetings and job sites will be required, as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
